<p>Contains the main bootstrap / pipeline used by the Heritage Connector to import data into a graph before performing NPL and Graph analysis on it. Individual repos provide much of the actual functionality and are listed separately below.</p>

<p>Ahead of the hackathon, a proof-of-concept map interface was developed to explore the potential of creating new entry interfaces into the knowledge graph.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5752010">hc_dump_latest.csv</a> file was wrangled in <a href="https://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/">BBEdit</a> to extract all the Wikidata QIDs.</p>

<p>These were then processed in <a href="https://openrefine.org">OpenRefine</a> to add the following Wikidata property P625 (coordinate location) values giving latitude and longitude.</p>

<p>The resulting data was then manipulated in OpenRefine to add links to the <a href="http://heritageconnector.sciencemuseum.org.uk/6_metadata_explorer/index.html">Heritage Connector Metadata Explorer</a> and then uploaded to Google Maps resulting to two maps:</p>

<p>Because there is a limit on Google Maps of ten layers, each with max 2,000 pins, and there are 38,576 pins in total, the pins are split across two maps. As you explore, you may discover that there are some pins which actually relate to locations on the moon!</p>

<p>The resulting data was then manipulated in OpenRefine into the required structure for Timeline JS, links to the <a href="http://heritageconnector.sciencemuseum.org.uk/6_metadata_explorer/index.html">Heritage Connector Metadata Explorer</a> added, and then converted into Google Sheets: one for <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LHMepViVVuw_3_iYHRM0cyEAocUhpsDY61gOb1t8CB0/">people</a> and one for <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AnA4JKLCTmmvfieTNcBmvPT3ylRKWZXBeD178TDD8sk/">events</a>.</p>

<p>These were then linked to Timeline JS to give the two timelines:</p>

<p>The performance of the timeline is quite slow as the maximum number of points on the timeline is recommended to be 200 and each of our timelines contains several thousand entries, which is itself only a tiny fraction of the number of people and events in the whole knowledge graph.</p>

  <li>kg_embeddings.zip - knowledge graph embeddings generated by training RotatE models on the above datasets. Also includes 2D and 3D projections of these embeddings generated using UMAP.</li>
